The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 3.有朋友（男）在全剧最喜欢爸爸，因为只有爸爸apprecaite美美的熊猫，我当然觉得他的屁股坐得不偏不倚的（嘲讽的意思），猫爸在虎妈面前还是有存在合理性的
很搞笑，很治愈，很能共情，四城男孩的歌也蛮好听的，不错的。
青春、少女、成长。这是皮克斯最中国的一部电影，当然，中国文化只是一个外壳，成长之痛依然是他们的核心，每个人心理都住着一个“怪兽”，我们需要学会和它共舞，一起成长。
包宝宝的起点太高了 ，导演也确实了解中国的原生家庭，但问题是最后的和解完全和包宝宝不一样的重回了低龄化，还有点可惜。
低于预期。但红熊猫实在是太可爱了！华裔家庭题材与女性觉醒与成长的内核，因为导演的声音过于强大反而显得浅显，无法触动内心。
在取材、人设和内核上都很Chinese的美国动画，把青春期的生理变化和叛逆心理与民族传统文化在现代化过程中的矛盾结合在一起作为叙事冲突，故事并不深奥，但已经是一部成功的跨文化碰撞作品。
我选择成为我自己。这个世界比较没用就是情绪宣泄，比如说什么你知道又能怎么样呢？仿佛你真的知道了一样，所有的东西你都要先知道了再说，在你不知道之前，你不需要任何的表示，我现在不和人争吵了，因为开始意识到，每个人只能在他的认知水平基础上去思考，以后有人告诉我2+2=10时，我会说，你真厉害。”
有点硬，但换个角度想，一些东西为什么会成为“刻板”或许是有道理的。最共情的地方竟然是追星现场……我也好想看线下演唱会啊淦
皮克斯不会让人失望！故事设定在千禧年的多伦多，这种时代感和华人社会独有的一种关系特色结合地特别好，有一定年纪的华人会觉得特别感同身受。感觉竹林和中国古典乐器这些元素被西方影视玩得特别好。外婆阿姨们变身加上男孩乐队那段大合唱看得让人莫名其妙热血沸腾，太可爱了。
故事内容还是有点太老套了，我也没共鸣，我妈也totally不是controlling freak。就是小熊猫也太可爱了，超fluffy
太太太太可爱了！皮克斯永远不会让人失望！情感的递进也毫不生硬。
第3000部观影打卡。
对标的应该是coco？皮克斯对民族文化和奇幻元素的融合，还是关于家庭和成长的主题，但这部无论画面还是剧情都太草率了点
Emma的表演大师课，鲜肉“鸭王”也贡献了惊艳的亮相，传说中的行业标杆真的令人震撼…一室之内，调度的设计都好精准，导演没有让这部舞台剧模式的剧本真的变成毫无电影感的戏剧录播，体验清爽。整个故事真的踩在当代人普遍的心灵症结上了，身体自主、原生家庭、女性高潮…不一而足。口号式的内容填满了文本缝隙，却也不令人讨厌，因为这对组合真的太有火花了。是一部可以轻松推荐给所有人看，在结尾笑泪相望的那种电影～
这是小熊猫吧？加拿大的话，确实是广东和香港人移民的首选之地。青春期女性成长电影，变身怪物既暗喻生理上的急剧变化，也是这一特殊时期女性情绪波动和心理恐惧的映照。刻板的亚裔身份设定，始终没讲出口的“种族歧视”，接受自己的缺点，反抗家长权威也和开篇的“孝道文化”批判结合起来。
属于皮克斯的第二梯队，这次是东方人会共情西方人会猎奇，都会喜欢何乐不为呢，很接地气，也是这些年东方元素动画里最能够感同身受的一部，另外这个毛茸茸的真的萌，还有男团大场面真的很搞很到位，电子宠物很怀旧

一部显然是关于中国女性为家庭牺牲自我个性和欲望的故事。
啊啊啊太可爱了啊！美美好可爱（完美的女儿啊！），朋友们好可爱，妈妈很好，婆婆和阿姨们都很好！情节真的是又幼稚又好笑，imagine如果我有幸见过7只小熊猫在空中做法，绝对永生难忘！不过男性角色隐形是中国特色了哈。
